Although given the name of a strange and seem luxurious, suicide doors is actually intended for the category of conventional cars and even today many models produced for making it look less popular. For example is the New Opel Meriva using Flex Door System, much like the suicide doors, but with slight
modifications. From the name, suicide door is a door with a hinge system that is located at the backdoor, this door system that is open in the opposite direction. If it sounds complicated, you can see his picture, you'll understand the beauty of the art of suicide doors.
Maybe in your mind the question arises, why this is called "Suicide Doors"? As quoted from autoevolution, this door has a unique layout that makes the passenger who tried to close the door while the car continues to move so it feels like to kill myself because a passenger had to hold the air flow.
Cars that use suicide doors include the Opel Meriva, Rolls Royce Phantom, SpykerD12, Peugeot 601 in 1940 and 2011 Mazda RX-8.

Every single one of those pictures except for the last one was not suicide doors. Those were scissor doors and butterfly doors. Suicide doors open backward, not up.
